Which country has closed the largest share of its gap to the EU average?

Share of the gap closed = (value in the latest year − value in 2007) ÷ (100 − value in 2007). With a small starting gap the ratio becomes unstable, so it is shown only where the 2007 gap was at least 10 points; where the gap has widened, the number of points is given instead. Germany is above the EU average and so is not ranked.

Manufacturing, not total industry: mining and energy differ too much across the eight countries. The index measures output, not capacity.

Eurostat's house price index, 2015 average = 100, the same base as in Indicators. Greece does not report such an index to Eurostat and is therefore missing.
